'Flossie' Coogan, 54, of Stroud Township, died Friday morning, May 14, at VNA Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Thomas G. Coogan, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage on Oct. 16, 2009. Born Jan 2, 1956, in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Raymond R. and Florence (Hoffman) Phillips and lived in Monroe County for the past 25 years. She previously worked in the emergency room and human resources department of Pocono Medical Center and was currently an administrator at Sonofi-Aventis in Swiftwater whe she had worked for the past 10 years. Flossie was a very active and dedicated member of East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church where she served as a Stephen minister. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Thomas Coogan Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., and Daniel Coogan and Kevin Coogan, both at home; two brothers, Walter C. Phillips of East Stroudsburg and Raymond R. Phillips Jr. of Washingtonville, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews. Viewing hours are from 2 to 4 and 5: 30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, 87 S. Courtland St., East Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Candy LaBar officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial remembrances be made to East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, 87 S.
