Research:

This is the family of Thomas Coogan of Balen West, Moone, County
Kildare, Ireland.  He was born in Boolagh, County Tipperary.

A Michael Coogan was a signatory witness on the marriage 
certificate for Thomas and his wife (Alicia) but we are not 
certain how this person connects to the family.

While in County Kildare, the family were neighbors of the famous
explorer, Ernest Shackleton.

A first cousin to the second generation of the family was Mgr.
Waters, the Vicar General of Dublin and President of Clonliffe
College, Dublin.  

This family has also been found as COGAN.
