(AP) - Christopher Coogan, youngest son of the actor Jackie Coogan, was killed Friday in a motorcycle accident at the age of 22. Jackie Coogan, who as a child appeared in Charlie Chaplin's 1921 film "The Kid" and as an adult played Uncle Fester in television's "The Addams Family," died in 1985 [sic]. 25 JUN 1996 - [PAGE B5] TUCSON, Ariz. - Daniel F. Coogan, 67, of 7052 East Edgemont St., formerly of Worcester, Mass., a retired Air Force colonel, was stricken ill and died May 15 at home. He leaves his wife, Patricia (Hunsaker) Coogan; a son, Daniel Coogan, both of Tucson; his mother, Pauline (Wright) Coogan of Worcester; a brother, Owen C. Coogan of Leicester, Mass.; a sister, Mary C. Morway of Oxford, Mass.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. His daughter, Gail of Virginia Beach, Va., died June 2. He was born in Worcester, son of Owen Coogan. He graduated from St. Peter's High School and Holy Cross College, both in Worcester. Mr. Coogan served in the Air Force for 22 years, retiring as a colonel in 1977. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War eras, including duty in Antarctica. A funeral service was held May 22 in East Lawn Palms Mortuary Chapel, 5801 East Grant Road. A military burial was in East Lawn Palms Cemetery. A memorial Mass was held June 8 in St. Peter's Church in Worcester. 03 FEB 1998 - [PAGE B5] WORCESTER - Pauline G. (Wright) Coogan, 97, of Worcester, died Sunday in St. Francis Home after an illness. Her husband, Owen C. Coogan, died in 1935. She leaves a son, Owen C. Coogan of Leicester; a daughter, Mary C. Morway of Oxford; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Another son, Col. Daniel F. Coogan of Tucson, Ariz., died last year. She was born in Athol, daughter of William and Kathleen (Smith) Wright, and lived most of her life in Worcester, graduating from South High School. She graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., and earned a doctorate in philosophy from Catholic University, also in Washington. Mrs. Coogan was the principal clerk for the superintendent of schools and was also a librarian in the medical library at St. Vincent Hospital. She retired in 1970. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery will be at the family's convenience. There are no calling hours. (Coogan) Morway, 76, of Wheelock St., died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at UMass Medical Center – University Campus, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident last Wednesday. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Robert T. Morway of Oxford, who died in 1998; and a brother, Daniel Coogan. She is survived by three sons, Robert T. Morway Jr. of Florida, Timothy E. Morway and his wife Penny of Dudley, and Matthew J. Morway of Oxford; a daughter, Eileen “Missy” DeBoise and her husband Tony of West Boylston; a brother, Owen C. Coogan of Leicester; six grandchildren, Helen and Timmy of Dudley, and Michael, Shawn, Lisa, and Stephanie of Florida; several great grandchildren, three nieces, and two nephews. She was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Owen and Pauline (Wright) Coogan, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1959. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School in Worcester in 1951 and Worcester State College in 1955. Mrs. Morway was a retired kindergarten teacher for Worcester Public Schools in Worcester. Later, she worked as a teacher’s aide at the Chaffee School in Oxford. She was an active member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford. Mrs. Morway loved all sports and enjoyed attending Oxford High School football games. She greatly enjoyed the company of her many coffee shop friends. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Friends are respectfully requested to meet directly at church. Coogan, 84, of 61 Pine View Ave, Worcester and formally Leicester, died Friday, February 26, 2016 in the Odd Fellows Home of Worcester. He leaves behind his immediate family, Ellen Davenport, Michael Coogan and his wife Rosann, Kathleen Coogan, Patricia Foley and her husband James; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and close companion June Camarra. He was born in Fall River, MA son of Owen Coogan and Pauline (Wright) Coogan and is predeceased by his brother Daniel Coogan and sister Mary Morway. Owen graduated from St. Peter's CCHS, Holy Cross College and Boston College School of Social Work. Family, music and football, were Owen's passions. He was inducted into the St Peter's football Hall of Fame as well as The Holy Cross football Hall of Fame. The Mayor of Worcester proclaimed Owen Coogan Day to be November 22, 1952 in recognition of his great football achievements. Owen received an honorable discharge on February 28, 1962 from the Army and served our Country in the Korean War. Owen devoted his life to the Catholic Church, specifically the Diocese of Worcester and raised monies for parishes as well as the Diocese as a whole. When not working, there were the Friday night family dinners, Sunday football, weekend family cookouts and Easter egg hunts, one of the many traditions carried on. His home was always full of music and those who were lucky enough to hear him sing knew Pavarotti had some serious competition. Owen was a strong and generous man who had many friends and will be missed by all who knew him. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester MA. There are no calling hours and Burial will be private at a later date. Coogan, age 78 passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019 at Madonna Manor in North Attleboro. He was the son of the late James J. and Mary P. (Clark) Coogan. Paul was born on April 12, 1940 in Washington, DC. He graduated from The Carmelite Junior Seminary in Hamilton and later attended Boston University. Paul was a long-time member of the Trappist community and worked for over 30 years in various positions at St. Joseph's Abbey in Spencer, MA. Paul was an avid reader and loved art. He enjoyed visiting galleries and bookstores in New York and Boston. Loving brother of James and his wife Mary Coogan of North Attleboro.
