SISTER MARGARET COOGAN, FORMER SCHOOLTEACHER - Sister Margaret 
Frances Coogan, a former Catholic elementary school teacher and 
piano teacher, died of congestive heart failure yesterday at 
Assumption Hall Infirmary and Retirement Home in Greensburg. She 
was 87. Sister Coogan, a member of the Sisters of Charity of Seton 
Hill since 1925, taught for almost 30 years in elementary schools 
in the Pittsburgh and Greensburg dioceses, primarily in grades 4 
through 6. She retired in 1970.  Sister Coogan also offered private 
piano lessons. After her retirement, she continued to teach private 
piano lessons, first at St. James Convent in Wilkinsburg for 10 
years, then at Sacred Heart Convent in Shadyside.  Sister Coogan 
stopped teaching last year when she moved to Assumption Hall 
because of illness.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. 
today and tomorrow at Assumption Hall, Mount Thor Road, Greensburg. 
A Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in Assumption Hall 
Chapel. Burial will be in Sisters' Cemetery, Greensburg. Memorial 
contributions may be made to the Sisters of Charity, DePaul Center, 
Mount Thor Road, Greensburg 15601.

John and Helen (Dwyer) Itzel; beloved husband of 56 years of William 
Q. Coogan; dear mother of daughters Micky (Dan) Flavin and Nancy 
(Bob) Lesniakowski; sons William (Beth) and Daniel (Yvonne) Coogan; 
loving grandmother of Danielle (Tom) Cenna, Brian Flavin, Diane 
(Ryan) Novosel, Laura, Matthew, David, Jeff and Andrew Coogan, Carly 
Lesniakowski; great- grandmother of Olivia Novosel; sister of Robert 
and William Itzel; sister-in-law to John and Colman Coogan. She is 
preceded in death by brother and sister John Itzel and Dolores
