She was born on April 12, 1925 in Somerville, MA. She married Peter J. O'Neill on November 6, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Emma Donahue Coogan. She was the former registrar of the Cochran School of Nursing in Yonkers, NY, and was employed by the Bedford Schools until her retirement. Mrs. O'Neill is survived by her husband, Peter, and children, Noreen and Albert Blair and Peter and Judy O'Neill of Mount Kisco, Pamela and Nicholas Bisaccia of Wappingers Falls, and Richard and Karen O'Neill of Stamford, CT; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers Edward, James and Richard Coogan, and sisters MaryLou Devereaux, Betty Kennedy, Emma Madden and Rosemary Cronin of MA. Born on January 24, 1920 in Hastings on Hudson to Edward and Alice (Humphrey) Coogan . She worked as a Chief Passport Office for the Department of State and was a W.W.II Navy Veteran. She was 85. Mrs. Coogan worked as a Buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue. She was with the company for 28 years before retiring in 1967. Mrs. Coogan was born on May 2, 1915 in Port Chester, NY to Frederick and Christiana Causfield Biermann. She was educated in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School in 1934. On September 17, 1937 she married Charles Turner at Saint Mary‘s Church in Port Chester, NY. Mrs. Coogan lived in Port Chester for the past 13 years. Before that, she lived in South Yarmouth, MA from 1967 to 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia of Port Chester, NY; sister, Kathleen Houska of Williston, Florida; grandchildren, Tina Banahan of Rye Brook, NY, Frank Ciancuillo of Port Chester, NY and Mark Ciancuillo of Rye, NY. Family members who died earlier include her brother, Frederick who died in action in the Pacific during World War II, her first husband, Charles Turner in December, 1990 and her second husband, Murtha Coogan in December, 1978. Born on July 15, 1938 to William and Mary (Sheehan) Bandon in the Bronx where she was raised and graduated from St. Jean Baptiste High School. On June 10, 1961 she married Peter B. Coogan in St. Brendon‘s Church in the Bronx, and she later moved to Yonkers and was a resident for the last 35 years. Her husband predeceased her in 1985. Sheila was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and was a former cook for their friars. She also was a member of the Finian Seniors Association serving as their President. Mrs. Coogan is survived by her two sons, Peter Jr of Shenorock and Edward of Baltimore, MD; her four grandchildren Kylie, Tara, Shannon and Kaitlin; her two brothers William Bandon of Somers, and Jack Bandon of Albany and her sister, Peggy Kohler of Florida. Coogan, a resident of Newburgh since 1982 entered into rest on Friday, November 24, 2006 at Castle Point V.A. Hospital. He was 76. Son of the late Edward and Alice Humphrey, he was born February 25, 1930 in Yonkers, N.Y. On January 11, 1958, he married Cecelia Casserly in St. Peter's Church in Yonkers, N.Y., where they resided before moving to Piscataway, N.J. and later Beacon, N.Y. She predeceased him on June 16, 2004. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1955 in the submarine service. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, a fourth degree member of Trinity Council Knights of Columbus, and a member of the U.S. Submarine Veteran's Association. Jim played the Irish button accordion and was frequently heard at music sessions and Irish events throughout the Hudson Valley. He worked with his long time friend, Al Gessner at Al's Music Shop in Port Jervis. With his daughter, Mary, he also performed in concerts featuring fathers and daughters with the Irish folk ensemble, Cherish the Ladies. He is survived by his two children, Mary E. Coogan of Yonkers, N.Y. and James J. Coogan of Manhattan, N.Y.; his sister, Loretta Coogan of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre- deceased by his two brothers, Edward and Joseph Coogan; and one sister, Irene Coogan. Mr. Coogan worked as a Traffic Manager for Graybar Electric Corp. for over 30 years, retiring in 1982. On September 24, 1949 he married Marie Blanck in St. Peter's Church in Yonkers, she survives living in Yonkers. Fred was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church where he served as a Lector. Fred was a member of the N.Y. Traffic Club and was a former past President. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Besides his wife Marie; Mr. Coogan is survived by his three daughters; Marjorie (Robert) McAllister of Bronxville; Barbara (Sal) Bordanano of Plainsboro, NJ, and Eileen (Nick) Visco of Eastchester.
