W. Lane of Jefferson City - Mrs. Nancy Coogan, 57, lifelong resident of Waynesville, Mo., died at 3 a.m. this morning in the Mount St. Rose hospital in St. Louis following a two-months illness. Mrs. Coogan was born September 12, 1881, a daughter of Jerry and Mary Lane. She received her education in Waynesville schools and later was married to E. G. Coogan, who survives her. She was a member of the Catholic church. Other survivors: Three daughters, Margaret and Georgia of the family home; Mrs. William Deeken of Waynesville; two sons, Pat and Orville Coogan of Waynesville; one brother, G. W. Lane of Jefferson City and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Gray of St. Louis. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at the St. Peters Church here and internment will be in the church cemetery. 08 OCT 1956 - ["Jefferson City Post-Tribune"] (incomplete) GEORGE E. Mr. Coogan was born in Pulaski County Sept. 15, 1868... ...was married Feb. 21, 1909 to Miss Mary Lane who died several years ago. Remains... 10 OCT 1956 - "Deaths" ["Jefferson City Post-Tribune" - PAGE 2] GEORGE COOGAN RITES TO BE HELD THURSDAY - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church for George E. Coogan with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. A. [Vogelweld] officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Mr. Coogan died Monday at St. Mary's Hospital. He was a native of Pulaski County. Survivors include two sons, three daughters, six brothers, one sister and eight grandchildren. Mr. Coogan was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church. 31 OCT 2004 - ["Jefferson City News-Tribune"] STARKE - Georgia Ann Starke, age 91 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, October 28, 2004, at her home. She was born January 9, 1913, at Big Piney, Mo., the daughter of George Emmett and Nancy Louise Lane Coogan. She was married October 19, 1956, in Jefferson City, to Harry W. Starke, who preceded her in death on April 1, 1985. She attended school in Big Piney, Mo. She was employed by the Sisters of St. Mary, working at their hospitals in Jefferson City and Kansas City. She was also employed at McKinney Bros. Cafe and Adcocks Cafe prior to her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Survivors include: one son, Michael W. Starke of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Betty Lynes of Jefferson City, and Mary Alice St. Charles of Baldwin Park, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and 25 great-great grand- children. She was preceded in death by two sons, Harry Starke, Jr. and Donald Starke; one daughter, Bonnie Loveall; two brothers, Patrick Coogan and Orville Coogan; two sisters, Margaret Yancey and Ruby Deeken. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church, Monday, November 1, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Lammers officiating. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Buescher Memorial Home, Sunday, October 31, from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Community Hospices of America.
