She was 75 years old, born in Tipperary, Ireland and had lived in this village nearly all her life. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Nellie O'Mara of Syracuse. The funeral was held at St. Joseph's Church Tuesday morning. Rev. Joseph Ruby conducted the services. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. 03 OCT 1938 - ["Citizen-Advertiser" - PAGE 6] JAMES COOGAN - James Coogan, a well known resident of this city, died Saturday evening [02 OCT 1938] at a nursing home after a long illness. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Mary A. Lynch of Auburn and by several nieces and nephews of this city. Mr. Coogan had made his home with his nephew, Edward J. Lyons, 46 Seymour Street. For many years he was employed at the Auburn Woolen Mills. Mr. Coogan was born in Ireland and came to this country when a young man and had always resided in Auburn. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home of Rolling and Rolling at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday morning and at Holy Family Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Mr. Coogan was a member of the Holy Family Holy Name Society and members of the society will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday night at 8 o'clock to conduct services. 05 OCT 1938 - ["Citizen-Advertiser"] FUNERAL OF JAMES COOGAN - Funeral services for James Coogan of 46 Seymour Street, who died on Sunday night, were held at 8:30 o'clock on Wednesday morning at the funeral home of Rolling and Rolling in Owasco Street and at 9 o'clock at Holy Family Church. The services were largely attended both at the home and at the church. There were may Mass cards and flowers. At the church a solemn requiem high Mass was read by the Rev. John Healy assisted by the Very Rev. John A. Conway as deacon and the Rev. Francis Harding as sub-deacon. After the Mass the burial services were conducted by Father Healy. Appropriate music was sung by the choir. Burial was in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery where final absolution was pronounced by Dean Conway, assisted by Father Harding. Bearers were Bernard F. Rooney, James Doyle, Timothy Ryan, Edward Parker, Martin O'Neill and James Murray. 05 NOV 1945 - ["Citizen-Advertiser" - PAGE 12] MRS. MARY COOGAN LYNCH - Mrs. Mary Coogan Lynch, widow of Patrick Lynch, died Sunday [04 NOV 1945] in a local nursing home. Mrs. Lynch was born in Ireland but came to this country when a young woman and had resided here for years. She is survived by four nieces, Mrs. Millard Darrow, Mrs. John Quirk, Mrs. Oke Soderstrom, and Miss Mary Lyons and a nephew, Edward J. Lyons, all of this city. Mrs. Lynch was employed at the Auburn City Hospital for over 40 years and was very well known. The funeral will be held from the Rolling Funeral Home, 14 Owasco Street at 8:30 Wednesday morning with services at St. Mary's Church at 9 o'clock.
