Obituary of Walter Raymond Coogan

SKANEATELES - WALTER RAYMOND COOGAN, 60 died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003
at Community General Hospital.

Born in Jersey City, N. J., he retired in 1999 from US Air where he had
worked for 34 years as a reservation sales representative.

He was a member of the Centreal New York Chapter of the National 
Railway Historical Society, director of the First Class Services for 
the Adirondack Scenic Railroad and for several years, he was the 
curator of the Martisco Railroad Museum.  He was also a member of the 
Adirondack Railroad Preservation Society, member and past president of 
the Association of Retired US Air Employees and was a former member of 
FOCUS.

He is survived by his companion Nancy M. Wierzbickl of Warners; brother
James J. Coogan of Skaneateles; friend Ellie L. Wallace of Skaneateles;
nephew Christopher Coogan of New York City and niece Lara Gallagher of
New Jersey.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at the Tindall
Funeral Home, 1921 Genesee St., Syracuse at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's
Church.

Spring interment will be in Palenville Cemetery, Palenville.

Calling hours are Saturday, Dec. 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday,
Dec. 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community General
Hospital, 4900 Broad Road, Syracuse, N.Y. 13215.
