JOAN TEITSWORTH COOGAN WARSAW - Mrs. Joan Teitsworth Coogan, 75, a teacher at Warsaw Central School from 1965 to 1980 and who was passionate about her family, children, charity, music, poetry, books, world peace and the plight of the underprivileged, died Saturday (Sept. 18, 2004) at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility. Mrs. Coogan was born in Rochester, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary Waterhouse Teitsworth. She was a graduate of Geneseo State College and Sarah Lawrence College. She was known as a kind, gentle woman. She taught second and third grades at Warsaw. She was the wife of the late Harold Coogan and sister of the late Albert and Richard Teitsworth and Ruth (Cartwright) Holmes. Survivors include two sons and a daughter, Nathan (Suzanne), Caroline and Harold (Emily Hill) Coogan; siblings, Marie Streb, Anne, Yvonne, William, Michael and Daniel Teitsworth; six grand- children, Chelsea and Briana Coogan-Bassett, Lianne, Sarah, Benjamin and Meghan Coogan; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home on Nov. 27 at a time to be announced. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. ___________________________________________________________________
