Obituary of Joyce Lucille Babb Coogan

JOYCE LUCILLE COOGAN
04/04/1936 - 01/02/2009

Joyce Lucille Coogan, 72, of Paris, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Friday
(Jan. 2, 2009) at her residence.  She was a retired secretary for
Shaw Lumber Company and had also worked several years as a waitress
at Don & Katy's Restaurant.

At her request, visitation and services will be private. Burial will
be in Edgar Cemetery.  Templeton Funeral Home of Paris is in charge
of arrangements.

Mrs. Coogan was born April 4, 1936 in Paris, the daughter of the 
late Ernest Shelton Babb and Verna Ellen (Wright) Babb.  She married
Richard R. Coogan Sr. on May 28, 1980 in St. Augustine, Fla. and he
survives.

Other survivors include a son, Tracy (Elizabeth) Hawks of Bowling
Green, Ky.; a step-son, Richard Coogan Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind.;
a step-daughter, Mickie Schoonover of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister,
Gernith Armstrong of Paris; three grandchildren, Austin, Alexandra,
and Aislin Hawks; three nieces, Kris Winters of Paris, Darla Freeze
of Indianapolis, Ind., and Valerie Lewis of Georgetown; three 
nephews, Kim and Mick Armstrong both of Paris and Kerry Hardy of
Denver, Colo.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was
preceded in death by a sister, Wandalee Hardy.

Mrs. Coogan was a member of the former Trinity United Methodist
Church of Paris.  She was also a member of V.F.W. Post #3601 
Auxilliary and American Legion Post #211 Auxilliary.  She was 
talented at crafts and crocheting, and was an avid Tony Stewart fan.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to
D.O. it! Edgar County Cancer Support Group or to the Edgar County
Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
