Obituary of Jay Gardiner Coogan

HEMET - JAY COOGAN

Graveside services for Jay Gardiner Coogan, 82, will be held at 10:30
a.m. Monday at Riverside National Cemetery.  He died of complications
of a stroke Tuesday at the Hemet Valley HealthCare Center.

Inland Memorial Mortuary in Hemet is handling arrangements.

Mr. Coogan, who was born in Madison, N.J., lived in Hemet for 20 years.
He owned Coogan and Sons, a landscaping firm in Westminster.

He served in the U. S. Army Air Forces during World War II and was a 
Pearl Harbor survivor.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; two sons, Michael of Vancouver,
Wash., and David of Kenwood; a daughter, Vicki Svatos of Rosamond;
10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard of
Los Angeles and David of New Jersey; and a sister, Patricia Lindsley
of New York.
