Coogan died Thursday morning, January 22, at the home of his parents at North Pine Grove, Pa. He was born April 29, 1891, at North Pine Grove. He received his early education at his home school, then attended the Clarion Normal. Following his graduation, he taught for three years in his home township. He was a young man of noble traits, of character which gained for him the admiration and respect of all who knew him. Always patient in his illness, he suffered silently until the end. He was a very bright young man, having talents unsurpassed by many of his age. He was a very dutiful son, and loving to his parents. He was a devoted member of St. Mary's Church of [Crown ?], where requiem high mass was celebrated Saturday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. Father Joseph B. Keegan. Interred in Catholic Cemetery there. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Coogan, five sisters and four brothers: Elizabeth, Edith, Ella, Mary and Julia; and John, Norbert, James and Charles. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Wm O'Connor and daughters, Maude and Elizabeth of Kane, Pa.; Miss Mary Cunningham, Matt, Frank and Richard Cunningham of Oil City, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Jos Cunningham and Jno Cunningham of Kellettville; Wm Cunningham and son Charles, of Marionville; Mrs. Joseph Siegel, Mrs. Frank Fletcher and son, Francis, of Fryburg. __________________________________________________________________ http://books.google.com
