COOGAN 1929-2013 [photo] Dolores Helen Coogan, 84, of Staunton, formerly of Kent Island, MD and Baltimore City, MD passed away on Tuesday October 22, 2013. Mrs. Coogan is survived by four children, Joseph Coogan, Steven Coogan, David Coogan, Dolores Coogan Duncan; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. [VA], [23 OCT 2013 ?]): DOLORES HELEN (ROTT) COOGAN January 2, 1929 - October 22, 2013 [photo] Dolores Helen (Rott) Coogan, 84 of Staunton, formerly of Kent Island, MD, passed away on Tuesday October 22, 2013 at Emeritus of Staunton. Mrs. Coogan was born on January 2, 1929 in Baltimore, MD and was a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Fox) Rott. She loved to fish and enjoyed eating steamed crabs. Dee was a talented gardener having both flower and vegetable gardens. She was very devoted to the care of her youngest son David, and served on the Board of Directors for the Chester Wye Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Mrs. Coogan was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gerard Coogan on December 2, 1968. Dee is survived by three sons, Joseph J. Coogan and wife Patricia of Staunton, Steven P. Coogan and fiancé Mary Yuhasz of Waynesboro, David L. Coogan of Verona; a daughter, Dolores Coogan Duncan of Staunton; one brother, Jerome Rott of Delaware; one sister, Audrey Bossle; six grandchildren, Tricia Bowersox, Eric Coogan, Trey Duncan, Katie Duncan, Rachael Coogan, Kristopher Coogan; a step-granddaughter Natalie Yuhasz; three great-grandchildren Jordan Bowersox, Tristyn Bowersox, Isabella Bowersox,; a special friend, Mary Razinckus; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Coogan was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Bernard Hoffman; a brother, Andrew Rott; a sister, Louise Richmond; and a step-grandson, Joseph Yuhasz. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 12 P.M. at St Francis of Assisi in Staunton with Father Joseph Wamala officiating. Burial will follow at Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
