http://www.cooganresearchgroup.com/crg/index.htm 06 January 2009 Obituary of Colleen Coogan Monje (extracted from "Albany Times-Union", 07 AUG 2006): MONJE, COLLEEN (COOGAN) [photo] BURLINGTON, VT - Colleen (Coogan) Monje, 56, of Burlington, VT, passed into everlasting life on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Vermont Respite House in Williston, VT after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born, raised and educated in Albany, NY, Colleen attended Catholic school at St. Teresa of Avila and was a 1967 graduate of Vincentian Institute. She attended SUNY at Albany, and Albany College of Pharmacy. She received her Vermont Pharmacy License on August 8, 1972 and began a long career as a Pharmacist in Burlington, VT. Colleen was a devout congregate of St. Mark's Church. She enjoyed expressing her creativity through sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting and making beautiful beaded jewelry. Colleen was also interested in antiques, was an avid doll collector and loved to travel. A dedicated genealogist, Colleen researched, collected and documented extensive family history. Colleen is survived by her husband of 28 years, Christopher Monje; her daughter, Katherine Monje; her son, Brian Monje; and her young granddaughter, Evelyn Olivia, whom she adored. She predeceases her loving parents, John F. Coogan and Jane Coogan; her sisters, Janice Hunter and Carol Coogan (Strausman), all of Albany, NY; her brother, John M. Coogan of Philadelphia, PA; eight neices and nephews; two grandnephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial at the Ready Funeral Home North Chapel, 934 North Ave., Burlington, VT on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark's Church, 1251 North Ave., Burlington, VT on Thursday, August 10, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington.
