COOGAN story

A young daughter of Dennis Coogan, of Kalamazoo, while alone in the
house recently, discovered a man ransacking her father's desk.  She
ordered him to leave, and was answered with a curse.  She then
screamed for help and received a blow.  Still undaunted, the plucky
girl ran to her father's room, secured a revolver, and returned to
the charge.  The scamp then ran, dropping a large pruning knife as
he did so.
