COOGAN story appearing in "Coal Men of American: A biographical and
historical review of the world's greatest industry" (Arthur M. Hull, 
1918):


MATT J. COOGAN, Lincoln, Illinois, has been in the retail coal 
business for eight years and previously worked for eight years in
the mines.  He was formerly with the Latham Coal & Mining Co.  He
was born April 29, 1888, at Lincoln.
