A farmer named Thomas Coogan, 63 years of age, residing in Gnarwarre, was assisting in putting up some fencing on his property yesterday afternoon, when he suddenly became ill. A man named Savage, who was working with him, went to the farmhouse, about 200 yards off, to get a vehicle in which to take him home, leaving him in charge of another person, but on his return Coogan was dead. A magisterial inquiry into the circumstances was held this afternoon at Gnarwarre by Mr. Heron, P.M., when the above facts were elicited. Dr. Lyttleton, who had made an examination of the deceased, gave it as his opinion that the cause of death was apoplexy of the heart, that organ being gorged with blood.
