Private Dennis A. Sullivan of the Second battalion of engineers died on March 5, and five days later a baby was born to the wife of Quartermaster Sergeant Joshua Coogan of the Fourteenth cavalry. The baby was christened Thomas Lynam Coogan and starts life with a purse filled with gold, which was subscribed by the folks the baby found aboard the ship when he arrived. T. L. Coogan is a very tiny chap. He weighed only five pounds when he made his debut, but the transport surgeon declares him to be as healthy as any rooky that ever entered the army.
