COOGAN story

ARRESTED FOR A ROW

Thomas and James McMann and Patrick Coogan created a tremendous
rumpus at Higginsville this morning and when Officer Bonesteel
attempted to arrest them they fell upon him and gave him a 
beating.  He finally succeeded in arresting them, though he was
forced to club one of them so the blood ran over his face and he
looked like a butcher.  The officer is deserving of great praise
for his bravery in doing his duty.
