     #299 - Mary Coogan Stimson (Ocala, FL)

Research:

This is the family of Peter Coogan.  He was probably born in 
Ireland and probably emigrated to Canada in the mid Nineteenth 
Century.  He eventually settled in Syracuse, (Onondaga County), 
New York.  

Some of Peter's descendants moved to Buffalo but most still live 
in the Syracuse area today.

This family may have originally been surnamed COGAN (at least one
member used that surname into the Twentieth Century).  The name
probably was then spelled COOGAN after the family lived in 
Syracuse for several years.
