Research:

This is the Coogan family of Plainfield (Union County), New
Jersey. The group has roots in New York but we are not sure 
about their exact origin.

The first confirmed member of the family was Harriet (nee 
Hoffman), who died at Plainfield in 1909.  We are fairly certain
that she was born in New York. Another clue lies in the fact that
she was buried in "Calvery Cemetery, Long Island." Harriet's son, 
William E. Coogan, lived in Plainfield for at least another 20 
years.

We are currently looking for someone to link with this family and 
to take over the search!
