Research:

This is the family of James Coogan.  He was born in Ireland and
emigrated to the United States in the early Twentieth Century.
He settled in New York City.

James' son, James John Coogan (who was reportedly born in 
Stratford, Connecticut), later moved to the Buffalo area (Erie 
County) of Western New York State.  Descendants still live in 
that region - some in the town of Tonawanda.

James' daughter, Mary A. Coogan, married into the Dumont family
and moved to Lowell (Middlesex County), Massachusetts.

This family has also been found as COGAN.
