Research:

This is the family of Michael Coogan. He was born in Ireland and
resided in the townland of Moneenroe (Clough Parish) in County 
Kilkenny.  In the mid Nineteenth Century, Michael emigrated to 
the United States and settled in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.  

Michael's son, Richard Coogan, was a veteran of the US Civil 
War. Richard married Elizabeth Dumphy and had four children with 
her. After he died, Elizabeth married Thomas DOYNE and had four 
more children.

This family has also been found as COGAN.
