Research:

This is the family of Owen Coogan, a weaver.  He was born in 
Ireland and probably lived in County Monaghan.

Owen had at least one son, Philip Coogan.  He lived in County 
Monaghan in 1860 and had several children there.

Owen's grand-son was Owen Coogan, a 20 year career soldier in 
the British Army.  He later retired to County Offaly (Kings 
County).  It is said that he could write beautifully and also 
composed music.

The family of Owen's great-grand-son, Owen Coogan, eventually
emigrated to the United States.  This group lived in Chicago
(Cook County), Illinois.  Another part of the family moved to
Australia.

Geraldine and Loreto are descendants of Owen Coogan through his
great-great-granddaughter, Annie Coogan.

Philip is a descendant of Owen through his great-great-grandson,
Patrick John Coogan.
