Research:

This is the family of James Coogan.  He was born in Ireland
(possibly in County Cork). 

James' daughter, Elizabeth Coogan, emigrated to the United States 
in the early Nineteenth Century.  She first settled in New York
but later moved to Iowa County, Wisconsin.

The family's actual surname has been difficult to ascertain for 
several years because of nearly illegible handwriting on old 
records.  However, Liz recently determined that the surname could 
actually have been EAGAN.  Further research is required to be 
certain.

This family has also been found as CAGAN.
