Research:

This is the family of Matthew Coogan. He was born in Ireland and
moved to the United States in the mid Nineteenth Century.  He 
settled in Mason County, Kentucky, where he and his family lived
for many years.

One of Matthew's sons, Francis Coogan, moved to Saint Louis,
Missouri, prior to his death.

This family has been found as CUGAN and COGAN. In fact, the name
may have been COOGAN at first but eventually changed to COGAN.

Pat is a descendant of Matthew Coogan / Cogan through his 
daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cogan, who married Stephen Forest 
Sturdevant.
