Research:

This is the Coogan family of County Laois / Leix / Queens, 
Ireland.  At least two members of this group emigrated to the 
United States in the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth 
Centuries.

John J. Coogan and his brother, Gerald Patrick Coogan, built a 
highly successful liquor and saloon business in the Greenwich 
area of New York City.

One brother, Edward Coogan, remained in Ireland - he was living 
in Dublin in 1910.
