He lived in County Laois / Leix / Queens and emigrated to the United States in the mid Nineteenth Century. He settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of the US Civil War, rising to the rank of First Sergeant. He eventually died of wounds that he sustained on 03 JUL 1863, during the Battle of Gettysburg (PA).
