This is the family of James Coogan.  He was born in Ireland
and lived in County Kilkenny.

James' son, John Coogan, emigrated to the United States in
the early Twentieth Century. He initially settled in New York
City, where he married (under the O'Neil name).  At several
times in his later life, he claimed to have been born in the
US.

Descendants of this family also live in New Jersey, Florida, 
Colorado and California.
