20 August 2003 Researcher (Location): #66 - Hildred Bennett Research: Hildred is researching an interesting story about COOGANs that follows: A baby was left in a basket on a porch on a street in Montgomery, AL in 1930. A note in the basket gave his name as Jackie COOGAN and said he was born 16 MAR 1930. He was left at the home of an elderly lady who could not care for him. She called the police and they took the baby to the hospital in Montgomery. After living there for three days, he was placed in a foster home in Red Level, AL. Jackie's foster parents were Hosea and Ella Mae (HOGG) MOTT. They eventually adopted him.
