Research:

This is the family of Patrick Coogan.  He and his family lived
in the townland of Corlealackagh, parish Clontibret, County 
Monaghan, Ireland.  The family also has roots in Castleblayney 
and the Tullycorbett [or Tullycorbet] Parish.

The Kelly branch of the family, descended from Patrick's 
daughter, Margaret Coogan, emigrated to the United States and
settled in New York City.

Almost all of the children of Patrick's son, Owen Coogan, moved
to the US and resided in New York City.  The family later lived
in other parts of the state, including the Capital Region 
(Albany), before spreading into California, Florida and Missouri.

Some of this group apparently moved to Canada and South Africa.

This family is probably related to the other families from
Corlealackagh.
