Research:

This is the family of John Coogan.  He was born in Ireland and 
moved to Canada in the mid Nineteenth Century.  He settled in 
Cobourg (Northumberland County), Ontario. Some of his family was 
still living in the Cobourg area in the 1920s.

One of his grand-sons, Patrick James Coogan, moved to the United 
States in 1894. He lived in Syracuse and New York City, New York.

This group may be related to the family of Elizabeth (Fromont)
Coogan that also moved from Canada to Syracuse.

This family has also been found as COOGEN, COOGIN and COGAN.
