At least three members of this group, Thomas Coogan, Richard B. Coogan and one additional male (name unknown) emigrated to Canada in the early Nineteenth Century. After probably living in Montreal for a few years, Thomas and Richard settled in Bytown, Ontario. Thomas later moved his family back to Montreal by 1861, where his son ran a successful hotel for many years. One of Richard B.'s sons, James Coogan, later moved to North Bend (Dodge County), Nebraska. Another son, Arthur B. Coogan, also moved to the United States in the late Nineteenth Century. He lived in Pennsylvania and Iowa before moving to Omaha, NE. He is shown living with his sister, Harriet M. Stevens, in 1910 (IA) and 1920 (NE) - but she may really have been his "sister-in-law." Their father also moved to NE before his death in 1878. Andrew Coogan, son of the third (name unknown - could be "C.") member of this family to emigrate to Canada, joined his cousins in NE in the later part of the Nineteenth Century.
