I accepted a job as mechanic with a Pontiac agency in White Plains. My first assignment was to completely dismantle a Pontiac from a ruptured Chassis and remount it on a new chassis. Evidently the means of straightening a chassis had not been perfected as yet. Every nut, bolt and pipe line had to be transferred. It took me the best part of two weeks for which I received approval. They were so pleased I was given a second one the following week. Of that I was not pleased. I worked for Pontiac for two years.

In the mean time a two bedroom apartment in the Zimkin building became available to us. It came just in time for Gerry was pregnant with Charles.
